Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. November 29, 2004 Cherokee Sheriff Roger Garrison announces the arrest of Cherokee County Deputy Sheriff Ulysses Williams. Williams is charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers and a felony charge of violation of oath by public officer.
The arrest comes after an investigation conducted by the Cherokee County Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives received information that confidential information was provided to the owners of two restaurants that were the focus of an undercover operation and subsequent raids in September. Williams was terminated from the Sheriff’s Office earlier today. “This type of conduct will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said Sheriff Garrison. Williams is currently being held at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $6,275.
