Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. December 8, 2004 A joint narcotics investigation has netted one of the largest drug seizures ever made in Cherokee County. Narcotics agents from the Cherokee Multi Agency Narcotics Squad (CMANS), the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI), the DEA and the DeKalb County Narcotics Squad seized approximately 25 pounds of cocaine and 20 pounds of methamphetamine this morning. Investigators estimate the drugs are worth ¾ of a million dollars on the street.
Agents arrested Armando Torres Pineda, 26 years of age of Gwinnett County after finding the narcotics. Pineda is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking cocaine and is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center without a bond.
