Press Release
Attempt to Serve a Warrant

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. February 10, 2005  Earlier today, the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit attempted to serve a warrant for Cobb County at a residence in Cherokee County located on Ranchwood Trail. The warrant was sworn out for Zachary Dollar for the Violation in Conditions of Release. The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit was not able to serve the warrant, but received information that Dollar might be at a Motel location in Cobb County. Cobb County went out to the Motel and located the vehicle Dollar was said to be traveling in and pursued the vehicle back into Cherokee County. Cobb’s pursuit was called off on Highway 5 at Main Street due to a heavy volume of traffic. The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office received further information that the vehicle had crashed in the area of Little River Elementary School. The Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Board of Education to place the School on Code Red status due to the nature of incident. The Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle approximately ½ mile from the school and continued to search the area for Dollar. The school was taken off Code Red status at that time.

At approximately 2:15 pm the Sheriff’s Office received information that Dollar was possibly located at a residence on Kellogg Creek Road. The Sheriff’s Office once again worked in conjunction with the Board of Education with keeping the children in the after school program of Boston Elementary School indoors while they searched the area. The after school program resumed normal functions at approximately 4:30 pm.

If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Zachary Dollar, they are asked to contact The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office at 678-493-4080.
