Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. February 27, 2005 At approximately 1:00 p.m., the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office responded to 2013 Avery Drive regarding a domestic dispute that ended in a shooting.
Investigators with The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit received information that the victim, Greg Wilson 45 years of age of Paulding County and another male arrived at the residence on Avery Road to pick up the female that lived at the residence because they believed she was being abused by her boyfriend, Terry Mangel, 29 years of age. A fight ensued between Mangel and Wilson. Mangel obtained a shotgun from the residence and shoot Wilson while the two are outside the residence.
Terry Mangel has been arrested and charged with murder. Mangel is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center without a bond.
