Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. March 3, 2005 The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office reports that an inmate housed in the Adult Detention Center apparently died from natural causes during the night of March 3, 2005. The inmate Arthur Fiedler of Acworth, 38 years of age, was arrested on January 21, 2005 by Cherokee Sheriff’s Office for possession of methamphetamine, Violation of Probation and Theft by Receiving.
Sheriff Garrison stated that it was his understanding that there were no unusual issues surrounding Fiedler’s detention. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called to conduct an investigation of Fiedler’s death.
