Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. March 16, 2005 For the past year, the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has been diligently training deputies assigned to courtroom security at the Justice Center. To date, ten deputies have graduated from the week long U.S Marshal’s Academy located at Glynco, Ga. The Academy focuses on inmate security, officer positioning in the courtroom and learning which person(s) belong in the courtroom and how to protect the courtroom. Sheriff Roger Garrison requested the personnel attend this important training to ensure the Justice Center runs at maximum levels of security.
