Waleska, Cherokee County, Ga. May 5, 2005 On May 3, 2005 at approximately 7:00 pm, a white Dodge Ram and a tan Honda crashed on Little Refuge Road at the entrance to Lake Arrowhead. The driver of the Honda, Ransom Tipton, 16-year-old of Canton, Ga sustained critical injuries and was air ambulanced to North Fulton Regional Hospital where he later died. The first passenger of the vehicle, Missy Tipton was also air-ambulanced to North Fulton Regional Hospital and has since been released. The second passenger of the vehicle, Peter Yurewich, 16 years of age of Canton, Ga, received critical injuries and was air-ambulanced to Atlanta Medical Center. The driver of the Dodge Ram received minor injuries and was released at the scene of the crash.
The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the crash.
