Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. June 1, 2005 On June 1, 2005 members of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit along with the Cartersville Police Department arrested Arcadio Ojeda-Mendoza, 25 years of age at a residence located on Summit Street in Cartersville. Mendoza was arrested without incident.
Mendoza was wanted in connection with the stabbing death of Candido Castillo-Vargas on May 19, 2005 that occurred at Pine Village Mobile Home Park. Mendoza is charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault and is being held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
Detective Patty Garcia of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit located Mendoza. Detective Garcia was able to locate a telephone booth in Mexico where Mendoza’s relatives were calling the Cartersville address where Mendoza was staying.
