Update Juvenile Shot

Ball Ground, Cherokee County, Ga. June 15, 2005  On June 8, 2005, at approximately 6:00pm, a mother and her 14-year-old daughter entered the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Ball Ground precinct to report an incident that had just occurred on Ball Ground Highway.

The mother of the juvenile informed deputies that she and her daughter were driving northbound on Ball Ground Highway when a projectile came through the vehicle’s open window and struck the 14-year-old juvenile in the left temple. The juvenile was released from the hospital

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit received information that a possible suspect might be located in the area of the incident. Detectives followed up with the lead and made an arrest of a 15-year-old juvenile from Acworth. The juvenile was charged with Terroristic Act. The juvenile has been released to the custody of his parents pending a court date. The investigation revealed the victim was unintentionally struck when the juvenile was shooting at vehicles.
