Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. June 22, 2005 The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office would like to give special recognition to Major Chris Collett, Commander of the Adult Detention Center on his recent graduation from the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy (FBINA). Major Collett started his career with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office in 1994. He has been assigned to various divisions of the Sheriff’s Office including the Adult Detention Center, Criminal Investigations and the Uniform Patrol Division.
While attending the 10-week program at Quantico, Virginia, Major Collett successfully completed courses in management, forensic science, legal issues for law enforcement, physical training, executive leadership and interviews and interrogations. All courses taught at the FBINA are accredited through the University of Virginia. The training is considered the best offered in the country. Major Collett becomes the sixth Cherokee Sheriff’s Office employee to graduate from the FBINA academy. Sheriff Roger Garrison, Major Vic West, Captain Ed Lacey, Captain Karen Johnson and Lt. Ken Locke are all FBINA graduates.
