Bill Cline Receives Recognition

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. July 5, 2005  Sheriff Roger Garrison would like to announce Bill Cline of Waleska is receiving special recognition from the Peace Officer’s Association of Georgia. Mr. Cline is a life long resident of Waleska, Ga, and currently a member of the Waleska City Council. Mr. Cline retired as a Major from the Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division and has continued to mentor law enforcement personnel throughout the years. Chief Deputy Keith Moran of Liberty County who serves as the President of the Peace Officer Association of Georgia’s Board with Mr. Cline stated, “ law enforcement managers spend 90% of their time handling problems and 10% of their time actually dealing with the good things their agency is accomplishing that it is refreshing to see someone such as Mr. Cline give so much good back into the law enforcement community.”

Mr. Cline will receive a plaque of recognition on August 22nd for all of the recruiting efforts, new ideas and positive influence Mr. Cline has given the POAG over the years. The Peace Officers’ Association of Georgia was established to promote cordial relations and fellowship among the peace officers of Georgia, to assist peace officers and their families, to provide for and encourage the education and training of peace officers, to improve the profession, to improve and extend the service rendered by its members to the people of Georgia.
