Attempting to Locate Suspect

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. July 13, 2005   At approximately 12:00pm the Cherokee Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Cumming Highway at Mill Creek Road. The driver of the vehicle fled from the Deputy on foot. The driver of the car is James Ryan Symmes, 27 years of age. Symmes is currently wanted out of Hall County with warrants of Aggravated Assault FVA. The Sheriff's Office with the help of Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit is currently tracking the suspect in the area of Cumming Highway and Orange Shoals. Symmes is 5'9, 165 pounds and is currently wearing a gray shirt around waist, jeans, tattoos on his forearms.
