Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. July 28, 2005 The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) and the Woodstock Police Department conducted an investigation of an assault that occurred August 1, 2005 at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the back parking area of the Kohl’s parking lot located on Highway 92.
Investigators became suspicious when the crime scene did not match statements given by victim. Further investigation revealed that the victim had fabricated the incident and gave false statements to investigators. Cherrisha Nicole Johnson, 21 years of age of Woodstock, Ga. has been charged with false report of a crime. Johnson is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
