Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. August 24, 2005  Garry Lee McColgin, age 47 of Woodstock, Ga was arrested Thursday, August 18, 2005 in Broward County Florida. McColgin is currently charged with 13 counts of Felony Theft by Taking, Violation of the Georgia RICO Act and Violation of Probation. He is currently being held at the Broward County Florida Adult Detention Center pending extradition on the outstanding warrants.

The investigation began on June 22, 2005, when detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office received a report that Garry Lee McColgin sold a Rolex watch over the Internet and did not deliver the merchandise. Detectives later identified 19 additional victims of theft with an aggregate loss of over $70,000. The arrest of McColgin was made possible with the assistance of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Garry McColgin was previously arrested by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office on June 20, 2003 resulting from an investigation involving the sale of Rolex watches over the Internet. Mr. Colgin is currently on probation for charges stemming from that investigation.
