Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. September 27, 2005 The Medical Examiner with the State Crime Lab has identified the human remains found in a creek bed off of Spriggs Trail in Northeast Cherokee County on August 25th.
Dental records and tattoos confirmed the remains as Jimmy Randy Ridings, white male, 36 years of age of Dawsonville, Ga. The cause and manner of death has not been determined.
Two individuals riding all terrain vehicles in the area on the evening of August 25, 2005 discovered the remains in a heavily wooded area. The case is still under investigation by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact investigators at 678-493-4174.
