Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. February 9, 2006 On January 11, 2006 three white males attacked the clerk at Mama Helen’s Cleaners located at 6548 Highway 92 Acworth, Cherokee County, Georgia. The three struck the clerk with a pool stick while taking money from the cash register. The clerk suffered minor injuries during the attack. The three were confronted by the clerk after they attempted to break open the coin machines in the business. The three were arrested by Cherokee County Sheriff' s Office Violent Crime Division detectives and the U.S. Marshal ' s Office in Fulton and
Gwinnett Counties. Arrested are:
Scotty Bernstein, 19 years of age, Duluth, Ga, Bernstein is charged with one count armed robbery and aggravated assault and is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with no bond. Jason Gennero, 19 years of age, Alpharetta, Ga. Gennero is charged with one count armed robbery and aggravated assault and is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with no bond. Merrill Bernstein, 19 years of age. Fulton, Ga Bernstein is charged with one count armed robbery. and aggravated assault and is currently being held at the Fulton County Adult Detention Center. The three are thought to be responsible for a number of robberies and thefts
in metro Atlanta. Case investigation continues in surrounding counties.
