Wachovia Bank Robbery

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. February 28, 2006   At approximately 10:15am, the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Wachovia Bank located at 2255 Rose Creek Drive off of Towne Lake Parkway.

A white male rushed into the bank and jumped the counter demanding the teller give him money. The man then left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. A bystander at the bank was able to get the tag number off of the suspected vehicle involved. A Uniform Patrol Unit spotted the vehicle on Highway 92 and attempted to initiate a vehicle stop. The vehicle fled from the patrol car. The Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division pursued the vehicle down Highway 92 until they were able to make an offense vehicle maneuver commonly referred to the “pit” maneuver and stop the vehicle. The two suspects in the vehicle were placed into custody at the scene.

Ryan Payne, 19 years of age, Woodstock Ga is charged with Robbery, fleeing and attempting to allude, and various traffic charges. Payne is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.

Katherine Soto, 19 years of age, Woodstock, Ga. Soto is charged with Robbery, fleeing and attempting to elude, and various traffic charges. Soto is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
