Acworth, Cherokee County, Ga. April 6, 2006   On April 3, 2006, at approximately 12:00 am two men were on a property on Kellogg Creek allegedly taking a wood splitter when they were confronted by the homeowner. The homeowner confronted the perpetrators with gunfire. The deputy that responded to the scene was met by gunfire. In attempting to leave the scene, the perpetrators attempted to harm the deputy when the deputy fired upon the perpetrators. It is believed that neither of the perpetrators were injured by any of the gunfire.
Detectives from the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office have identified the perpetrators as:
Rodney Dover, white male, roughly 30 years of age and Jimmy Beavers a black male who is also in his 30’s. Dover and Beavers are last known to be in a 1990 red Ford Pick-up truck. The truck has bullet holes in body and missing passenger window and possibly
the rear glass window. The truck is believed to be stolen from Gordon County.
