Ball Ground, Cherokee County, Ga. April 14, 2006 At approximately 12:00 pm the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office and the Ball Ground Police Department responded to 725 Ball Ground Road in reference to a fight in progress call.
Upon arrival to the residence, officers found the victim in a wooded area with serious injuries to the head area. Witnesses were able to give officers information that the perpetrator had allegedly hit the victim with a baseball bat and had just left in a burgundy vehicle. Deputies from the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol and Canton Police Department located and pursued the vehicle west on Highway 20. Deputies from the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office were able to deploy stop sticks and stop the vehicle at Breeze Hill Road. The perpetrator, Danny Cochran, 29 years of age of Ball Ground was taken into custody without further incident. Cochran is currently being held at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center.
