Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. September 7, 2006 - The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Grant in the amount of $73,151.00 for the purchase of video/digital enhancement equipment. The system will allow Cherokee Sheriff’s Office personnel to view and enhance surveillance images that are often recovered during criminal investigations. The grant includes funds for the training of two detectives in the use of the system. In addition, the system will be available to assist other area law enforcement agencies during criminal investigations.
