Follow–up on Death Investigation

Woodstock, Ga. Cherokee County, September 14, 2006. This afternoon, Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office have made a positive identification on the female body found September 13, 2006 at approximately 3:45 pm near the Harbor Town Marina, located on Lake Allatoona. The female has been identified as Mary L. James, 51 years of age, Marietta, Ga. James was reported missing to Cobb County Police Department on Tuesday September 12, 2006 by her son. The cause and manner of death are pending toxicology reports. The autopsy revealed no obvious signs of trauma. The identification was made through dental records. Case remains under investigation by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division.
