Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. November 6, 2006 - The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is currently working a homicide investigation. On November 5, 2006 at approximately 9:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to 1221 Hightower Road in reference to a rape and a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies found the male victim had attempted to enter into the residence and had a dispute with the female that lived in the house. A struggle ensued and the male was stabbed and later died at the scene. The female of the house sustained serious injury and was air-ambulanced to Grady Hospital . The Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division is currently working the death investigation.
