Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. May 4, 2007- Four deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office completed training this week at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Ga. Corporal Ronnie Reece, Deputy Abdias Paul, Deputy Rodney Burley, and Deputy Josh Watkins are assigned to work security at the Cherokee County Justice Center.
The deputies learned the latest techniques and received new information on courtroom security, high risk trials, weapon retention, and high risk inmates. The Cherokee deputies were able to meet and network with court security officers throughout the Unites States.
A total of 25 deputies from the sheriff's office are assigned to work security at the Justice Center in downtown Canton.
