Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. May 16, 2007- Cherokee Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a robbery yesterday afternoon at 1105 Parkside Ln. in the Towne Lake area. The victim, Sara Ayers 18 years old of Woodstock, Ga., had just obtained cash from the ATM machine at the BP gas station located on Towne Lake Parkway. While walking back to her home, two males grabbed Ms. Ayers, took her money and ran from the scene. No weapons were used and Ms. Ayers was not injured.
After deputies received a description of the suspects from the victim and witnesses, both suspects were located and arrested. Markese Ferguson, 18 years old of Woodstock, was arrest at a nearby apartment complex and charged with Robbery, Giving a False Name, and Making False Statements. The other suspect, a 16 year old juvenile male from Acworth, was located walking in a nearby subdivision. The juvenile was also charged with Robbery.
Ferguson is being held in the Cherokee County Jail with a $22,880.00 bond. The juvenile suspect was turned over to his parent.
