Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. June 15, 2007- A Marietta man arrested by Cherokee Sheriff's detectives on January 2, 2007 for Sexual Exploitation of a Child failed to show up for a scheduled court hearing today at the Cherokee County Justice Center. Hassan Ali Aamer, 53 years of age, was arrested by the Internet Crimes against Childen detectives after Aamer communicated via the internet with an undercover detective who was posing as a 14 year old girl. Aamer arranged to meet with the undercover officer in Cherokee County but the meeting never took place. Aamer was arrested at his home in Marietta, Ga.
Aamer was released from jail on a $11,200.00 bond. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest. Detectives learned today from Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) that Aamer flew to Manchester, England on June 8, 2007.
