Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. June 20, 2007- The body of a man found hanging from a tree near Lake Allatoona this afternnon has been identified as Ruben Lopez, 32 years old, of Woodstock, Ga. A lookout was given for Lopez after he left the Cherokee County Justice Center this morning. Lopez, who was out on bond and NOT in custody, was the defendant in a 2003 kidnapping case. After locating his vehicle in a subdivision off Bells Ferry Rd., Cherokee County deputies and a K-9 found Lopez's body near lake Allatoona. Lopez died from an apparent suicide.
