Arrest

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. July 16, 2007-Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office have arrested a Canton man for crimes against a child following a police traffic stop and narcotics investigation. On July 13, 2007 the Holly Springs Police Department conducted a traffic stop near 4517 Old Highway 5 in Canton, Ga. There were apparently 13 persons in and around the home. After contact with these persons the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad was contacted and began a drug investigation. During their investigation evidence was located in the bedroom of Kevin Langston, 29 years old of Canton, that indicated a young girl was involved in sexual activity with Langston.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office Crimes against Children Unit was notified and responded to the home. Following the execution of a search warrant at the location, a 15 year old juvenile was taken into protective custody. During the investigation Langston indicated that he was sexually involved with the 15 year old girl. Evidence indicated the girl had been living with Langston since she was 14 years old. Langston is also suspected of providing the child with Methamphetamine. Langston was charged with Aggravated Child Molestation, Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, Manufacturing Child Pornography, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Contributing to the Delinquincey of a Child, and Distributon of Methamphetamine. Langston is being held at the Cherokee County Jail with no bond.

The child is in the cutody of DFACS.
