Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. August 1, 2007-Officials with local law enforcement agencies met yesterday with Cherokee County Board of Commissioners Chariman Buzz Ahrens. The Board of Commissioners officially proclaimed Tuesday, August 7, 2007 as "National Night Out Against Crime" day in Cherokee County.
"The Cherokee Sheriff's Office, City of Canton Police Department, Holly Springs Police Department, Cherokee County Fire Department, and the Canton Fire Department are hosting the event at the Publix shopping center on Riverstone Parkway in Canton. Their will be food and entertainment and the community is invited come out and meet their public safety officials. Their will be numerous displays showing different divisions and programs utilized by local public safety. The event is an excellent oppportunity for citizens and public saftey to build a positive relationship in order to strengthen our community.
