Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. September 18, 2007 - At approximately 5:45 pm, Cherokee County Deputies responded to 1581 Darby Ford Court in reference to a domestic dispute involving an intoxicated subject. During the dispute, the subject pointed a firearm at his brother then fired a round into the ceiling of the residence. All parties have been evacuated from the residence and the subject barricaded himself inside the residence. The subject is supposedly heavily armed with automatic weapons. A perimeter has been established. Cherokee County SWAT and Strike Team are on scene. SWAT is attempting to make contact with the subject. Cherokee County Hostage Negotiation Team has also been notified.
Cherokee County SWAT Team was able to make contact with the subject and he is now in custody. He will transported to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. The charges and bond are unknown at this time.
