Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. December 4, 2007- Cherokee Sheriff’s deputies responded to one car accident yesterday at approximately 7:50pm on Knox Bridge Highway near Fields Chapel Road. The driver of the vehicle, Denise Ann Pagano, 46 years old of Canton, was later pronounced dead at Northside Cherokee Hospital. Ms. Pagano was traveling westbound on Knox Bridge Highway when she lost control of her vehicle while attempting to avoid another vehicle that had slowed down to turn into a driveway. Preliminary indications are that speed may have contributed to the accident. Ms. Pagano’s vehicle flipped twice before striking an embankment. She was not wearing a seat belt. The accident is still under investigation.
