Torch Run

Acworth, Cherokee County, Ga. May 29, 2008- Deputies and police with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office and the Canton Police Department participated in the Law Enforcement "Torch Run" Wednesday morning benefiting the Georgia Special Olympics. Nine officers ran the torch from the Oak Grove Precinct on Hwy 92 to the Cobb county line where it was turned over to Cobb County law enforcement. The Torch will make its way to Emory University where the Special Olympics begins this Friday night.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office raised $7,500.00 in donations this year to benefit the Georgia Special Olympics.
