Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. June 10, 2008- Last week, agents with the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad assisted Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with a round up of illegal aliens that have gang affiliations. Members of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office and Canton Police Department assisted CMANS in the operation. A total of five arrests were made in different locations from Canton to Woodstock. Four of the five illegal aliens were taken into custody and transported out of Cherokee County immediately for deportation. One of the suspects, Rolphe Moralez, 22 years of age, was charged with 2 counts of Forgery and is being held in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with no bond.

The round up in Cherokee county was part of a larger operation conducted throughout Georgia called “Community Shield”. Numerous federal, state, and local law enforcement organizations participated in the initiative which netted more than 120 arrests.
