Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. August 13, 2008- Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division returned approximately $5,000.00 worth of stolen tools to the Habitat for Humanity yesterday in Canton. The commercial grade tools were stolen in April of this year from a trailer parked at a Habitat jobsite in Milton. The returned tools were only a small portion of over 200 pieces of stolen property, including multiple vehicles, confiscated from a home off Holbrook Campground Rd. last month. Christopher James Antkowiak, 34 years of age, has been charged with 16 counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Forgery, Possession of Tools to Commit a Crime, 2 counts of Possession of an Article with Altered Identification Mark, and Theft by Deception. Additional charges are expected.
Antkowiak was released from jail on a $316,730.00 bond. |
