Acworth, Cherokee County, Ga. August 25, 2008- Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported armed robbery Monday morning at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Highway 92 at Bells Ferry Road in southern Cherokee County. The assistant manager, Siedah Chavon Chaney, 20 years old of Acworth, reported as she left the restaurant this morning to make a bank deposit she was robbed at gunpoint by a Hispanic male and a white male. Chaney stated the two suspects left the scene in a tan pick-up truck. Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Division began an investigation into the robbery. Within 6 hours detectives had 2 suspects in custody. The detective’s investigation revealed that Chaney, the assistant manager, and the manager Tracie Nillita Chambers, 37 years old of Austell, concocted the story about being robbed and kept the money they reported as stolen. The money was located in the trunk of Chaney’s vehicle. Both women have been arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Theft by Taking, False Report of a Crime, and Theft by Taking. They are both being held in the Cherokee Adult Detention Center with a $23,910.00 bond. |
