Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. January 31, 2008- Investigators with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office have arrested Connie Buce, 42 years old of Woodstock. Buce is the former owner and chief financial officer of the Cherokee Gazette which ended production in August 2007. The investigation revealed that Buce fraudently used credit card information from former customers of the Cherokee Gazette in November and December of 2007 after the paper was no longer in business. Investigators are still attempting to determine if there are other possible victims. Buce was arrested yesterday and charged with 4 counts of Identity Fraud. She was released from the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on a $20,016.00 bond. More charges are possible.
