
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Reserve Unit supplements the efforts of the Sheriff's Office to provide the highest level of service to the citizens of Cherokee County. Following is a partial list of activities that the Reserve Unit performs, and a brief description of each activity.

Uniform Patrol |
Certified Reserve officers may perform the same duties as regular officers in theUPD. This includes operating a precinct car and answering calls; providing transport of prisoners from the place of arrest to the Adult Detention Center, performing foot patrol at civic events, and other related duties. |

Child Fingerprinting |
When requested, the Reserve Unit will fingerprint children at certain public events. The fingerprint card, and instructions on recording accurate information about the child is given to the parent to store with their family records. Typically, the reserve non-Certified officers and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Explorer Unit provide this service. |

Adult Detention Center |
Members of the Reserve Unit may work at the Adult Detention Center. Duties performed include coordinating Inmate visitation, processing incoming prisoners, prisoner transportation from other facilities to the Cherokee County ADC, bonding out inmates, and facility security. |

Special Details |
On occasion the Reserve Unit may perform special duties as requested by Criminal Investigations Division, or other departments within the Sheriff's Office. |
|
Traffic Control |
As requested, the Reserve Unit will assist in traffic control at special events which are associated with a large volume of traffic. These include athletic events, parades, festivals, and other events of this nature. |
