A Cherokee County inmate died today, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Northside Cherokee Hospital. Brice Turner, 33 years of age, of Woodstock, was received by the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:15pm after his arrest by the Woodstock Police Department. Turner was transported by ambulance to Northside Cherokee Hospital on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 1:04am after deputies and medical staff administered lifesaving efforts and it was determined his health was declining. Turner was pronounced deceased at Northside Cherokee Hospital.
Turner had been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz, Improper Lane Change, and Crossing Guard Lines with Drugs. No other inmates were in his cell during his time at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. Turner’s body will be taken to the G.B.I. Crime Lab for an autopsy and determining cause of death. As in any in-custody death, the G.B.I. will be investigating the incident.
